Decadent second breakfast or early lunch?
Three days before departing Tasmania, either a gourmet day or plain "chow down" day.
I was very reasonable at the Brunie Hotel where I requested a continental breakfast of cereal and fruit, then to the road, following the coast and stopping at the Braddock lookout for pictures, the views are spectacular and the historic narrative very informative, Tasmania people have been farming since the early 1800s, and the modern agricultural production is amazing, one of the products is opium, they actually cultivate poppy plants and produce opium apparently well controlled by the government and with pharmaceutical products obtained at the end, maybe America should learn from this system that I am sure is based in the honesty and legal systems which may be lacking in other countries.
I followed the highway to Laucenston thru different roads as I had already gone thru this city on my way to the North East coast and the East coast ending in Hobart.
I decided to stop at the Chocolate factory and that destroyed my last shred of will power, I could not help myself and succumbed to a pair of Belgian Waffles with berry compote and maple syrup that were well worth my weakness, acompanied by a 400 ml mug of a very tasty chocolate, I was more than satisfied, I was literally stuffed and continued my trip, but the Raspberry farm appeared after a few kilometers and I had to stop again and this time I took three small jars of Raspberry and strawberry and blueberry jams, and some raspberries covered with chocolate, that again proved to be delicious.
The lady at the farm told me that I had to stop at the cheese factory and I did. this again was an epicurean experience and you test different kinds of cheese made in house, and I bought for the road a few small sticks of different types of cheese. What defends me is that I really can not carry any more in the motorcycle, otherwise I would end up overloading the machine just with my own weight!!!
I had to drive about 15 km off the highway in order to find a motorcycle shop where I was able to find full synthetic oil 10-60W just in case I have to add to the engine, which at this point does not seem to need it. The shop only had the 4 litter size of jug, therefore I added 4 kgs to my luggage.
Finally I was able to arrive to the Cabin Park Lagana in the Tamar River valley, just North of the city of Launceston
In order to pay for my sins of gluttony I decided to walk three km, to buy some ingredients for my breakfast in the morning. Victor
